I am currently using the Arcam A65+ in a passive bi-amp configuration with a Rotel RB990BX powering the low frequencies. I wasn't sure, without an active crossover if it would make a big difference. Well, I will be satisfied for at least a couple years in my endless pursuit of audio perfection, but now I'm set on getting separate Arcam amps for the highs and lows.

This integrated is roughly 4-5 years old and currently discontinued; the sound quality is near identical to the Arcam A65, so I will speak of it as though it is an A65. The only difference is the A75 having 10 watts more power. The current replacement for the A75 is the A70 just released 2006.

I have used the Arcam A65 amp for several months now and it has performed vey well. It has a balanced and detailed sound and good punch for 40wpc. It is being used with an NAD cd player and AE Aegis Ones, this combination sounds very good.

The CD62T was the most valuable player in the system with the Arcam A65 Plus and the Acoustic Energy AEGIS EVOs. I didn't hesitate to substitute the Rotel RA-1060 for the A65 Plus or the B&W DM303s for the AEGIS EVOs. I could listen to the CD62T for hours at a time in either system. That says a lot about the Arcam CD62T. The problem Arcam had a few years ago was they tried to swamp the market: The A65 (£370), A75 (£500), A80 (£650). These three models were competing in the same market - against themselves.
